Dorothy Watkins Postcard - 1232 The Fairy Glade

Dorothy Eva Watkins was Dudley Watkins' younger sister. She was a fine artist in her own right and was later known as a fine landscape painter. Above is a detail from one of the postcards she produced for Valentine's Postcards in the early 1950's. The were part of a Children's Series of artist signed postcards cards and are highly collectable (see below).

Dorothy Eva Watkins was Dudley Watkins' younger sister. She illustrated the postcards above and was later to become known as a fine landscape painter and her work is on display in Salt Lake City Art Centre in Utah, USA.
A photograph of her painting 'An English Farmyard' is *here*.

Above are a series of postcards she produced for Valentine's Postcards in the early 1950's. They were part of a 'Children's Series' of artist signed postcards cards and are highly collectable.

The pictures are clearly signed 'DOROTHY E WATKINS' (note how the style of signature is the same as that used by Dudley Watkins) but the words below them are signed 'by DOROTHY B WATKINS'. I suspect this is due to a misreading of her name during production of the cards.
