In
2002 the Scottish Executive, through the Scottish Forum for Community
Fire Safety, adopted the Oor Wullie / The Broons fire safety special magazine
(the red one) which was produced by D.C. Thomson. This was the original
idea of one of Grampian Community Fire Safety officers and 50,000 copies
of this booklet were distributed to Brigades throughout Scotland. A second
version was issued in 2004 (the green one) and distributed to children
