Peter Davidson is the current Broons and Oor Wullie artist but that is not all he does.
His website offers a quick tour of his various works. Very nice works too and well worth a visit.

Gavin's Music Files
Well, I have tried to keep this site strictly on the subject of Oor Wullie and The Broons but here are some of my home recordings (updated March 2008)

www.comicsuk.co.uk
Al Notton's outstanding effort. Shaping up to be the definitive site for UK comics, annuals, artists etc.
Includes a forum for sharing information and overall the site content is superb.
Al has a great links page and I will cheekily link to it here.

www.compalcomics.com - Compal Comic Auctions
An auction site operated by Malcolm Philips. This a UK based site operating auctions four times per year. All comic collectors are catered for and this is a good place to find the really rare comics, annuals and pieces of classic original artwork (including artwork by Dudley Watkins). If you leave your E-mail address with the site, they will send you reminders when each auction is starting and finishing.

VIZ COMICS
Suppliers of tat and t-shirts you would be embarrassed to wear.
My all time favourite comic and contrary to popular mythology, continues to be funnier than it used to be.

www.philsp.com/index.html - Galactica Central
An incredible piece of work. A site dedicated to comics, magazines, pulp fiction, detective stories, westerns etc etc. A huge amount of data illustrated with many classic cover scans. A great browse even if you are not interested in the subject. Caution - contains some racy covers that may not be suitable for children.

www.thecomicartwebsite.com - screenprints and etchings of DC Thomson comic characters
Web site for the excellent print artist John Patrick Reynolds.
John has permission from DC Thomson to use their comic artwork (from drawings by Davy Law, Leo Baxendale etc) to produce high quality screenprints of famous comic characters such as Dennis The Menace, Mini The Mix, Billy Whizz, The Bash Street Kids etc.

www.cartooncentre.com/index.html - The Cartoon Museum
Just as it says - a cartoon museum. A collection of cartoons through the ages. Based in London.

www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Hills/6569/ - INTERCOM
Home of the International Comics Discussion List. A Great site that has it's own Hall Of Fame were artists are nominated and inducted (Dudley Watkins was inducted in 1997), biographies of the artists and other stuff.

http://www.toonhound.com/
A great resource site for british comics, annuals, T.V. cartoons, movie cartoons and puppets.

An encyclopedia (Comiclopedia they call it) of comics. This is The Dudley Watkins page. Some nice artwork scans.

http://www.tonystrading.co.uk/
A great personal site from a man obsessed with collecting. Cover scans of hundreds of annuals, books and collectables. His 'My Collection' page is beyond belief.

www.dcthomson.co.uk/bigbairnbooks - Big Bairn Books and Collectables
A shop and collectors service provided by Douglas and Gail Hill. They find, buy and sell rare books, annuals and collectables. A few years ago they appeared on the news after selling a 1939 Broons annual for the outstanding sum (at the time) of £2,650 (or thereabout).

Ebay auctions UK search page
Ebay has become one of the main outlets for collectables in the UK.
Broons and Oor Wullie annuals from the mid 1950's to present are regularly offered for sale along with miscellaneous collectables..

FRANK QUITELY (AKA Vincent Dieghan)
A mention for Frank Quitely a comic book artist from Glasgow.
A great comic artist who's work has appeared in Electric Soup and Northern Lightz (both Glasgow comics). These comics are of relevance due to the appearance of The Greens. The Greens are a 'harder than VIZ' parody of The Broons. It is adult material - if you are at work/school/church look it up at your own risk.
Frank has also worked on lots of modern comics such as Batman, Captain America, New X-Men, The Sandman etc and is the new Superman artist.

http://www.new-year.co.uk/thebroons.html - New Year with The Broons
A short Hogmany / New year strip story with The Broons.

http://quicklawn.co.uk
Nothing at all to do with the rest of this site. I did this site for a friend's turf laying business based in Penicuik, Scotland.
Go on - you can see my cat Jack sitting on the back lawn.
